Dimms or Dual In-Line Memory Modules look like a larger version of a Simm, but with a few crucial differences. Dimms provide twice the data transfer of simms, allowing 64bits of data at a time to be transferred - as such dimms can be installed individually into computers unlike EDO simms. The primary difference between simms and PC133 dimms is that dimms have there pins electrically separated to form 168 different contacts, where as simms have there pins joined on the front edge and back edge to form 36 different contacts.PC133 SDRAM (133MHz) synchronises itself to the CPU's internal clock, this allows for faster transfer times. Because of this synchronisation the SDRAM uses only the time required to read/write data by eliminating the non-productive periods of waiting.With MAJOR PC133 SDRAM you have to be carefull on the chip base you use (Dependant on CPU processor speed and Age of Computer) so please check out your computer manual for the relevent information, it may say that you require 133MHz, this is PC133.
