Memory Stick
Memory Stick Pro | Memory Stick Duo | Memory Stick Pro Duo | Memory Stick Micro (M2) | Memory Stick Pro HG
The Memory Stick is the Sony memory card format. Introduced in 1998 mainly for use in digital cameras it was soon developed into the Memory Stick Pro, which transcended the original Memory Stick's limited storage capacity and data transfer rate.
The Memory Stick Pro was the same size and shape - similar to a stick of chewing gum - but offered considerably higher capacities and speed. Robust, versatile and compact, the Sony Memory Stick family is one of the foremost formats available today. With its small size and fast data rate it is an ideal data storage device.
Make sure you obtain the correct Memory Stick format for your digital equipment.
This is a list of the different types of Memory Sticks.
- Memory Stick
- Memory Stick Pro
- Memory Stick Duo
- Memory Stick Pro Duo
- Memory Stick Pro Duo (High Speed)
- Memory Stick Micro (M2)
The original Memory Stick, only available in sizes up to 128Mb, is no longer manufactured. Memory Stick Pro and Memory Stick Duo are older formats, less used today on account of their small (128Mb) capacity. The Memory Stick Pro Duo is the standard Memory Stick format, and the M2 Memory Stick Micro is the reduced size format. Be careful not to buy a high speed Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo unless your equipment is compatible with it.
