SDHC memory cards

SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards were created by SanDisk when the original SD cards reached their technological limit of a 2GB capacity. They are the same size and shape as the standard SD cards, but SDHC cards can currently be manufactured up to a capacity of 32Gb. However there are compatibility issues with older devices that were set up to use SD cards and cannot read the new format. New devices should be able to use both SD and SDHC cards.
