High on assertiveness and low on cooperation. Individual with this style is often aggressive and feels conflict is only resolved when they win
Competing
Low on assertiveness and high on cooperation. Opposite of competing, as the individual neglects their own concerns and lets the other person ‘win’
Accommodating
Low on both assertiveness and cooperation. Individual does not deal with the issue at all and this often leads to both parties feeling dissatisfied, as the conflict now becomes hidden
Avoiding
High on both assertiveness and cooperation. Opposite of avoiding and it involves open communication, questioning and resolution
Collaborating
Moderate on assertiveness and cooperation. The resolution only partially satisfies both parties, so it can sometimes only be a temporary solution to the conflict
