STEAM DISTILLATION
It is the process of grating or scraping the peel of a citrus fruit to release the oils. Generally produces the most fragrant product because the aroma of the oil expressed is not injured by the heat however, this method of extraction is quite limited in its applications.
EXPRESSION
It is used to obtain a plant's active botanical constituents that function as its “life force.” This method is used for oils readily decomposed by distillation. In this case, the odorous principle may be extracted by some form solution or absorption.
EXTRACTION
A very old technique of extracting the aromatic oils from flowers. It works on the simple principle that fats dissolve essential oils and thereby absorb their aromas. This method is used for extraction of odor of very delicate flowers hence, this is a special type of extraction method.
