Question:

Lean production

Author: Sixten Bigner Af Klintberg

Answer:

(Advanced structural framework) - Minimizing the time it takes to satisfy customer demand e.g. creating product only when it has been purchased. "Just in time". - Results in minimal inventory and high flow efficiency. Lean makes it easier to identify problematic parts of production. When it occurs, the "assembly line" is stopped, in order to identify the issue and thus creating better flow. - Instead of a traditional structural model where a line breakdown is a disaster and reserves are thus needed, the lean perspective suggests disrupting production to identify issues.
