Question:

What does the cell do to split [before mitosis]

Author: eric_galvao

Answer:

-Its split in three parts: -G [Gap Phase 1] has the cell grow and makes new cell structures and proteins. -S [Synthesis] has the cell replicate its DNA. This is because when the cell splits, it will be identical to each other. -G2 [Gap Phase 2] has the cell grow again and proteins are made for the cell division -Mitosis: The cell now has 2 copies of DNA spread out in long strings. The DNA then forms X shaped chromosomes. The arm of a chromosome is an exact copy. The Chromosomes then line up at the centre which gets short lived, as they are pulled by cell fibres. They are now at opposite ends of the cell.
