Question:

Why can't Ionic Solids be Electrolysed? Why can Molten Ionic Compounds?

Author: eric_galvao

Answer:

-This comes back to the fact that the Ions are in Fixed Positions, and so Cant Move. No Movement = No Electricity -Molten Ionic Compounds can, because the Ions can move Around. Movement of Charged Particles = Current = Electricity
