Question:

How can you Test for Alkenes? Give the Equation

Author: eric_galvao

Answer:

-Simply just add Bromine Water to it, which will go Colourless if it Reacts with an Alkene. -This is due to the Double Bond being able to Open Up and and make Bonds with the Bromine -C₂H₄ + Br₂--> C₂H₄Br₂ -Colourless + Orange --> Colourless
