Question:

How can Earthing and Fuses lower the Chance of Fires and Shocks?

Author: eric_galvao

Answer:

-Electricity will flow Anywhere, as long as it can Conduct. -If the Live Wire touches a Material that can Conduct - Metal - then Current will also Flow through it as well. This is Dangerous -So it has to be Earthed, or really it needs an Earth Wire, so that if the Live Wire touches the Case [Fault] then the Current will also Flow through the Earth Wire -Something you need to know about the Earth Wire is that its Stupid Thick and has a Low Resistance, meaning the Total Resistance of the Circuit will go Down as Well - meaning the Current will Increase. -This Increase will Melt the Fuse, and therefore Break the Circuit meaning the Appliance can't Harm You.
