To draw a perpendicular line from a point you place your compass on the given point, extend the compass past half the line, and draw an arc that passes through the line repeat this step on the opposite side of the line then a larger arc to meet the first and second points where the arcs meet the line lastly, draw a line that intersects the original point and the point where the two arcs meet
