Question:

What is a wavefront?

Author: Alana Ray

Answer:

The wavefront is an imaginary line that connects all the same points in a set of waves e.g. a set of symmetrically aligned transverse waves could have a wavefront connecting their peaks, or troughs. Wavefronts make it easier to visualise many waves moving together.
