-Antiplatelet -Secondary prevention of CVD -Usually given 2nd line (aspirin first) except when secondary prevention of stroke/TIA -Also used in duel antiplatelet therpay post MI/ACS -Interacts with omeprazole/esomeprazole -Clopidogrel is a prodrug & omeprazole/esoomeprazole prevents the conversion of clopidogrel to its active formm -Trials suggest this may reduce its antiplatelet effect & increase risk of cardiovascular events
