Gabapentin: -Indications -Initiation -Safety points

-Range of indications: anti-epileptic, Neuropathic pain -Needs to be titrated gradually -Severe respiratory depression even without concomitant opiod medicines -CNS depressants & elderly might have a higher risk of experiencing sevre repiratory depression & dose adjustments may be necessary in these patients -Schedule 3 (except from Safe custody requirements) -Abuse risk (alcohol interaction & CNS depressants- opioids)
