Question:

What are large scale mutations? What are the 3 types of the mutations it can be categorized into?

Author: fahr dat

Answer:

Large scale mutations are mutations that involve multiple nucleotides, entire genes, or whole regions of chromosomes! -> inversions -> translocation -> gene amplication Inversions are a type of large scale mutation, and they reverse the orientation of the gene on chromosomes Whereas translocation is the movement of entire sequences or genes between chromosomes Or you can get gene amplification, which causes multiple copies of genes...this results in down syndrome :(
