Acute silicoproteinosis (after exposure to high concentration of silica, symptoms within few weeks to years after initial exposure symptoms include cough, weight loss, fatigue, pleuritic pain bilateral alveolar filling pattern similar to proteinosis. On imaging we see bilateral diffuse ground glass opacities, may be perihilar or basilar CT: numerous centrilobular nodular opacities, focal ground glass opacities patchy areas of consolidations
