Surgical day procedure Marrow extracted from pelvis (Iliac crest) using a hollow needle Anesthesia is used to minimize pain. Most patients will go home the same day. Many experience lower back pain and stiffness for several days. The marrow stem cells will completely regenerate in 4-6 weeks.
