What is basis for effective treatment of SUD?

Recovery is a long-term process and frequently requires multiple episodes of treatment. No single treatment is appropriate for all individuals. Effective treatment attends to multiple needs of the individual, not just his or her drug addiction (medical, social, psychological, legal…). An individual’s treatment plan must be assessed often and modified to meet the person’s changing needs. Multiple responses with different intensity that goes from prevention to more complex treatment.
