Use: partial and tonic-clonic seizure, not absence seizure, trigeminal neuralgia, bipolar disorder/mood stabilizer Oral, 70% bound to plasma proteins, oxcarbamazepine (prodrug) Effects: hypersensitivity [steven-johnson], water retention and hyponatremia, blood dyscrasia [aplastic anemia], teratogenic effects.
