How is pathophysiology of femoral hernias?

Defect in transverse fascia in direct triangle, peritoneal sac pass through inguinal ligament to femoral canal, medial to femoral vein is small empty space for femoral hernia to project w/very narrow neck, easily incarceration and strangulation
