Pernicious anemia is characterized by atrophy of the parietal cell mucosa, deficiency FI Secrete hydrochloride (HCl), accounting for highly acidic pH of stomach. Chief cells:Located in fundus and body Secrete pepsinogen, which digests protein. G cells:Located in antrum. Secrete gastrin Mucous cells and pyloric gland areas : Mucus , provides a weak barrier to the diffusion of H+ and probably protects the mucosa. Gastric Juice : 500 and 1500 mL/d
