Question:

What are the types of urticaria?

Author: H K

Answer:

There are classically 2 main types of urticaria: – Immunological urticaria which essentially depend on the synthesis of IgE antibodies (Type I reactions in immunological urticaria are by far the most common), and – Non-immunological urticaria, the most frequent, totally independent of a specific humoral or cellular immune response. Causes: IgE mediated [allergens], Non-IgE mediated [diseases], Non-immunological [temperature, light, meds]
