Acid rain

PH<6, caused by sulphur and nitrogen oxides from burning fossil fuels and vehicle emissions. These gases mix with atmospheric water vapour and oxygen to form weak nitric and sulphuric acids. The wind carries these acids away from their source, resulting in "wet deposition."
