Question:

Amodiaquine

Author: Suzuki

Answer:

This drug has been widely used to treat malaria in many countries because of its low cost and, in some geographical areas, effectiveness against chloroquine-resistant strains of P falciparum. It is also used in fixed combination with artesunate. Hematologic toxicity, including agranulocytosis and aplastic anemia, has been associated with the use of amodiaquine.
