 Cartilage degeneration and irregularity.  Cartilage erosion.  Thickness and sclerosis/hardening of the subchondral bony plate (between shaft/head).  Mild synovitis (not in all cases of OA)/swelling  Outgrowth of osteophytes/spurs at the joint margin.  Swollen and fibrotic capsule.
