QuestionAnswer
How does the Hadith teach Muslims to be equitable? The hadith teaches Muslims to be equitable as Muhammed encouraged equality regardless of religion. When Muhammed was Governor of Medina, Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, and Polytheists were all present in his state, and rather than creating converts, he established a constitutional state to ensure equality among the minorities. As the Hadith says, “all people are as equal as the teeth of a comb”, Muhammad did not believe in distinctions of social groups because, “Allah does not look upon your outward appearance, he looks upon your hearts and deeds”, he taught Muslims, evil intentions and actions are the only true evils.
How did Prophet Muhammed demonstrate great leadership?Muslims believe they should not ignore the authority of the Hadith because Muhammed was considered the greatest leader. As Prophet Muhammed said in the hadith, “the leader of a people is their servant”, which infers he possessed the attributes of integrity, moral authority, and humility; that made him a greater leader. Muhammed humbled himself by personally building mosques to partake in the digging of the battle of the Trench, putting God before pride; influencing Muslims to do the same.
Why is the Sunnah essential for following the authority of the Qur’an?Adhering to the Sunnah is essential for following the authority of the Qur’an because it elaborates the Qur’an’s teachings. The Qur’an tells Muslims to act affectionately and behave modestly. and forbid wrongdoing, though it does not show Muslims how to execute such duties. The Qur’an quote, “You have an excellent messenger in the model of Allah”, reflects the vitality of Muhammed who demonstrated Allah’s commands in the Sunnah and therefore allowed Muslims to live by the same principles.
How does the Qur’an being universal makes it the only authority Muslims need? Some Muslims may consider the Qur’an to be the only authority a Muslim needs because it is universal. The word of Allah does not apply to any specific religion, unlike the other holy books, so the messages in the Qur’an can sustain validity in all conditions. The Quran quote, “And we have not sent you but onto the whole of mankind, a bearer of glad tidings”, which suggests the Qur’an is for all people and revealed to Muhammed so that he may enlighten all with it.
