How to calculate resultant force when an object changes direction

Measure out both directions and find how far it is from the starting point to the end point. then find the distance through the middle which forms a triangle the distance connecting both start and end is your answer. (remember newtons = cm or told otherwise) (Also if not given direction do it how u want)
