Talk about chemical composition of myelin

Myelin is a lipoproteic substance, but very rich in lipids. However, the chemical composition of central myelin is different from that of peripheral myelin. Central myelin contains 70% lipids and 30% proteins. In peripheral myelin, lipids are even more: 80%.
