 GI complaints: these lessen as the therapy progresses.  Gallstones: Because these drugs increase level of cholesterol in the bile, there is a predisposition to form gallstones.  Myositis (inflammation of a voluntary muscle) can occur, and with muscle weakness or tenderness should be evaluated.
