Larger cells having more abundant cytoplasm with large vesicular nuclei and a prominent nucleolus, representing ganglion cells in various stages of maturation, may be found in tumors admixed with primitive neuroblasts (ganglioneuroblastoma). Some neoplasms show signs of maturation, either spontaneous or therapy-induced.
