What is the canon?

From the Hebrew-Greek word "cane", meaning- measuring rod, passed onto christian to mean the "norm" or "rule of faith". It was first referenced in the 4th century as the definite, authoritative nature of the body of sacred scripture. The canon are agreed upon exemplars put in place by important people.
